Deepti is a Communication Health Assistant at Granville Island Speech Inc. and a Linguistics student at UBC, where her passion for language and human communication led her to the field of Speech-Language Pathology. Originally from Chennai, India, Deepti speaks five languages — English, Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, and French — bringing a rich multilingual perspective to her work with clients.
Deepti's path to clinical practice began with volunteering as an assistant to an SLP, an experience that revealed her natural strengths in communication, rapport building, and connecting with children. Since 2024, she has been gaining hands-on clinical experience working primarily with children on the Autism spectrum, as well as children presenting with speech sound disorders to support improvements in articulation.
Deepti aspires to pursue graduate studies in Speech-Language Pathology and is committed to developing her clinical skills alongside the experienced team at Granville Island Speech. Outside of work, Deepti enjoys exploring new cafes, writing poetry, meditating, and spending time with friends.
