Granville Island Speech is a boutique clinic that delivers high-quality, comprehensive speech therapy services in a relaxed, professional environment. Our sessions establish a partnership and collaboration with the client to set meaningful goals and provide a road map of how to achieve them.
Our speech-language pathologists bring their knowledge, diversity, experience, and creativity to deliver results through positive and engaging sessions. We teach clients to self-manage and how to independently succeed so that they can sustain the positive results they gain from speech therapy in the long term.

Meet our clinicians
Vinni Panikkar
Founder & Director
With 40+ years of experience, Vinni has worked with infants, children, adolescents, and adults across a range of settings. She is experienced in providing individual and group therapy and developing innovative learning contexts. She also supervises students, contributes to research, and specializes in communication needs related to mental health challenges.
Tara Nay
SPEECH-LANGUAGE Pathologist
Tara specializes in swallowing, speech, language, voice, and cognitive communication disorders related to stroke, brain injury, aging, and neurodegenerative disease. She also supports children with autism, intellectual disorders, language disorders, and developmental delays.
Lauren Maynard
SPEECH-LANGUAGE Pathologist
Lauren works with adults and children on speech, fluency, and expressive and receptive language disorders. Her clinical interests include pragmatic/social language difficulties, speech sound disorders, language disorders, stuttering, and autism spectrum disorder.
Jamie Hack
SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST
Jamie previously practiced at the Provincial Autism Resource Centre at Sunny Hill Health Centre and at BC Children’s Hospital on the Cleft Palate and Craniofacial Team. He is an active clinical educator who mentors students, involved in working groups that encourage family-centered and evidence-based practices, and a volunteer in his community.
Emily Burlie
SPEECH-LANGUAGE Pathologist
Emily is passionate about supporting individuals of all ages with their communication skills. She supports clients in expressive and receptive language, speech sound disorders, AAC for kids and adults, and social communication. She finds it very meaningful to help people connect more fully with their loved ones and those around them.
Danielle Sutton
SPEECH-LANGUAGE Pathologist
With a background working in schools, hospitals, early childhood centres and research settings, Danielle has extensive experience with toddlers and school-age children. She supports children and adults with speech, language, fluency, and social communication needs.
Amy Manske
SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST
Amy is passionate about supporting children and adults. She is experienced in working with clients and their families for AAC, autism spectrum disorder, and developmental differences. She values a neurodiversity-affirming, person-centred approach.
Deepti Mannem
COMMUNICATION HEALTH ASSISTANT
Deepti has been gaining clinical experience since 2024, working primarily with children on the autism spectrum, as well as children presenting with speech sound disorders to support improvements in articulation.

Minji Ju
ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
Minji enjoys supporting others and creating a welcoming, organized, and positive environment. With strong skills in client service, communication, and collaboration, she supports the team and manages administrative tasks for the clinic.
Luna
THERAPY ANIMAL
Luna is a part-time member of our clinic and is our favourite canine. She provides therapeutic services to our clients. Hypoallergenic and kind, she is one of the friendliest service animals you will ever meet!
