JiJi began her second career as a speech and language pathologist and has been practicing since 2005. She obtained her masters degree in communication disorders from University of New Mexico. Since then she has worked in New Mexico, California and, for the past five years, in Vancouver, B.C. She has experience working in a variety of settings including schools, hospitals and private clinics.
The majority of her focus has been to help children develop their communication skills, however, she also enjoys working with adults in the areas of cognitive, language and speech rehabilitation. Her passion is working with each individual's unique gifts and experiences to support their ability to communicate effectively and to participate joyfully across academic, familial and community settings. She extends her professional enthusiasm in working with Granville Island Speech. During her free time, you will find her reading or discussing books, walking the trails, or playing board games.
